Building control
The activities include mainly statutory tasks under the local housing committee, which are regulated in the land use and construction acts and regulations, the municipal construction scheme, soil resource act, rural business law and the act on  population books  concerning house building statistics and registration.

The personnel consisting of two buildning inspectors and office staff gives guidance and advice to builders so that laws and regulations are followed.

The section handles permits for buildning, demolition  and other authority tasks, monitors the maintenance and caretaking of the housing environment and buildings.

Furthermore the section gives necessary statements and, with the help of the office staff, handles the preparation of different applications  and monitors building  and soil resources.

The office prepares and executes the decisions of the section.
The office secretary has the right to make decisions in matters concerning state subsidies for repairs of pensioners’ housing as well as energy subsidies.
